Power mode
In power mode the device regulates the wattage delivered to the coil to a selected value. Its electronics adjust output voltage for the measured resistance; the coil's specified range and the device limits still govern operation.
01
Classification
Power mode belongs to the control layer and describes how a device releases, limits or cuts power. This logic sits between user input and heating element and is why two devices at the same wattage can behave differently. In the editorial structure of this glossary, Power mode is one of 119 entries under Parts & technology, described there deliberately without any purchase recommendation.
02
Practical relevance
Understanding Power mode lets you read error messages and cut-offs correctly instead of treating them as a defect. Many apparent malfunctions are in fact protective functions doing exactly what they should. The practical value of Power mode shows less at purchase than afterwards – with spare parts, warranty questions and eventual return.
03
Handling it safely
Never bypass protective functions around Power mode through third-party firmware, part swapping or mechanical intervention. Repeated cut-offs without an obvious cause need investigating, not dismissing. When in doubt about Power mode, take the conservative option: better to interrupt use than to accept a risk.

04
Not to be confused with
Product copy often puts Power mode and Display in the same sentence, while Auto-draw sensor describes a different level and must not be equated with them. In practice: when a source uses Power mode, first check whether it means the word technically or as marketing language.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Power mode a technical term?
- Yes. Power mode is a technical term with a fixed meaning, though colloquial use stretches it further. Within Parts & technology you should therefore work from the narrower, technical reading.
- Can I rely on product specifications for Power mode?
- Statements about Power mode are subject to labelling requirements for the German market but vary in completeness depending on the sales channel. Imported goods are more often incomplete.
- Why is Power mode often equated with Boost mode?
- Both come from the same field, Parts & technology, and marketing copy often uses them synonymously. Technically, however, Power mode denotes something other than Boost mode.
